As we bid farewell to 2023, we reflect on the incredible strides we've made together in the service of our rabbit friends.. This year alone, your support has allowed us to find loving homes for over 30 rabbits, and we couldn't be more grateful for your unwavering dedication to our cause.
The heartwarming joy we experience when we see the happy faces of families with their new rabbit family members is immeasurable. Equally fulfilling is witnessing our passionate volunteers working hand in hand to enhance the lives of every house rabbit under our care. We extend our deepest appreciation to everyone who has played a role, be it hands-on volunteering, providing essential funds, or contributing much-needed supplies.
As we embark on the journey into 2024, our commitment to helping more rabbits remains steadfast. To achieve this goal, we are reaching out to you, our valued supporters, to help us increase the number of foster homes. With your support, we can rescue more rabbits from local shelters, giving them a chance to find their forever homes. This past year, we assisted several shelters overwhelmed by a large animal hoarding incident, but our ability to help was constrained by the shortage of foster homes. If you are interested in becoming a foster rabbit family or have questions, please visit our Fostering page.
Expanding our reach also means facing increased medical expenses. Throughout the year, we encountered significant veterinary bills, ensuring that each rabbit receives proper care before being ready for adoption. Take Lola and Lacey, for instance. Lola, discovered on the streets of Baltimore County, had to have an eye removed due to an abscess. Lacey, surrendered to a local shelter, underwent surgery to address a missing toe and multiple abscesses caused by warbles. Today, thanks to your support, Lola and Lacey are thriving, free from the pain they endured before we intervened. With your continued assistance, we can provide medical care to more rabbits in need.
Educating the public on responsible pet keeping and humane practices remains a cornerstone of our mission. We will persist in our outreach efforts throughout the upcoming year, but to achieve these goals, we need the help of compassionate supporters like you.
Remember, we are a completely volunteer run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, relying on private donations, and grants to sustain our mission. Your contributions are tax-deductible, and every dollar brings us one step closer to making a difference in the lives of these rabbits.
Thank you for your caring heart and unwavering support. Wishing you the very best this holiday season and throughout the new year.
